St. Charles Borromeo
School was dedicated
on February 24,
1952, and quickly grew to include grades K-8. St.
Charles was originally lead by the Sisters of the
Presentation, followed in 1969 by the Ursuline Sisters.
Although many of the religious teachers have been replaced by lay
people, the school continues to provide a strong commitment to our
Catholic
faith,
values, customs and traditions. Catholic education is an integral part
of the program in all classes and in extra-curricular activities.
Theme
The "Golden Rule" is the catalyst behind the atmosphere at St. Charles
Borromeo School. Each morning the entire school participates in
school-wide prayer, and this sets the tone for the entire day. Service
is the theme and focus for many activities in all classes. Through
service to others, we develop a Christ-like love, and we experience joy.
The theme for the 2008-2009 school year is WISDOM. We have daily mottos
for each letter to remind us to do our best and to be our
best:
W - Work will win when wishy washy wishing won't
I - If you believe you can, or if you believe you can't, you're right.
S - Self-discipline is doing what you know you should do even when you don't want to do it.
D - Dishonesty is to believe in something, and not live it.
O - One thing you cannot recycle is wasted time.
M - Make sure to laugh often and you will be healthy, wealthy and wise.
Principal's Message
"In everyone's life, at some time, our
inner fire goes
out. It is then burst into flame by an
encounter with a human being. We should
all be thankful for those who rekindle the inner spirit."
Through education, team building, and a
faith community our
students become service oriented citizens, who generously give of
themselves
and appreciate what they have received.
- BJ Rossow-Deming, Principal
Note: St.
Charles sends out a weekly newsletter, The
Cardinal Flyer, every Tuesday
with a message from the principal teaching, encouraging
and motivating all to become the people they are destined to become.
