Mission Statement
St. Charles Borromeo School provides a challenging academic curriculum fostered by Catholic values in a safe, diverse, family-oriented community.

Our aim is for everyone to model respect, service and compassion for others, and to exercise self-discipline in order to reach their full potential.

stcharlesschoolHistory

St. Charles Borromeo School was dedicated on February 24, 1952, and quickly grew to include grades K-8.  St. Charles was originally lead by the Sisters of the Presentation, followed in 1969 by the Ursuline Sisters.

Although many of the religious teachers have been replaced by lay people, the school continues to provide a strong commitment to our Catholic faith, values, customs and traditions. Catholic education is an integral part of the program in all classes and in extra-curricular activities.

Theme
The "Golden Rule" is the catalyst behind the atmosphere at St. Charles Borromeo School. At St. Charles, we take that one step further and "Do unto others as they would have you do unto them." Each morning the entire school participates in school-wide prayer, and this sets the tone for the entire day. Service is the theme and focus for many activities in all classes. Through service to others, we develop a Christ-like love, and we experience joy.

The theme for the 2011-2012 school year is C.A.R.I.N.G. We have daily mottos for each letter to remind us to do our best and to be our best:

C – Change your thoughts and you change your world.

A – Ask yourself this question - Is my attitude worth catching?

R – Remember, it takes many good deeds to build up one's reputation, and only one bad one to lose it.

I – It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

N – Never look down on anybody unless you're helping him up.

G – Greatness - The greatest thing you can do for the people you care about is to become a happy, joyous person.

Principal's Message
"In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with a human being. We should all be thankful for those who rekindle the inner spirit." cardinal

Through education, team building, and a faith community our students become service oriented citizens, who generously give of themselves and appreciate what they have received.

- Principal

Note: St. Charles sends out a weekly newsletter, The Cardinal Flyer, every Tuesday with a message from the principal teaching, encouraging and motivating all to become the people they are destined to become.
